Baby Formulas Compared Aptamil v Mamia

In my latest blog I try to put an end to formula snobbery! When my two year old was born I did some research in to formula.  My wife had always given our eldest son Aptamil, this retails at between £12 and £14 in the UK (depending on where you buy it.

Here is a brief extract from the full blog which is available in the Mam Web Site..

Mother & Baby Groups

I have found when going to mother and baby groups, which let’s face it are daunting and occasionally hideous, it’s one of the first questions asked; “What formula do you give your baby?” This is after you’ve been berated for not breast feeding! It’s not for everyone ok?! And if you have read my previous blog on Post Partum Trauma if things go wrong with your C Section and you are on medication as a result it's a no no anyway.

If you don’t say “Aptimal or Kendamil” there is a ball of tumble weed across the play mat and a sharp intake of breath.  I have actively lied before to avoid the tumble weed.  How terrible is that? My baby didn’t know the difference in price, my baby just knew what made her comfortable and that’s all that mattered to me.  So, why couldn’t I or shouldn’t I have shouted MAMIA! proudly? I don’t know, but if I was ever to have another baby I absolutely would tell people loudly and proudly that I used Aldi formula.

Ultimately what im trying to say is that be wise and think about what you’re buying and why.  Expensive doesn’t always mean better.

Please let me know what experiences you’ve had with different formulas and if you’re a Mamia fan like me!
